Parish Administrator Lauren Azeltine Retires

Dear friends,

We wanted to share with you an update about our beloved Parish Administrator, Lauren Azeltine. As some of you may know, she has been out on medical leave. After a period of prayer and discernment, she has decided to retire from Saint James’.

It is so hard to believe that she has been a part of this community for over thirty years. Lauren first joined us as a member of the choir in 1997. She then joined us in the office part-time to plan the parish’s centennial celebration, and then joined us full-time in 2012 as our parish administrator.

It is with immense gratitude we invite everyone in the parish to join us for a festive coffee hour on April 12 following the 8AM and 10:30AM services as we celebrate all that Lauren has meant to us and to our community.

Second Space Option for Parents and Children

Here at St. James, we love families and are not one of those churches where people will ‘shoosh’ you if your children are busy and vocal. However, some parents with small children have asked for a separate space as an option during service, a place where they can watch the live stream of worship and allow their children space to work on projects and move their bodies. So, we will set up our large TV in the parish hall, and lay out art supplies, for children and their families. Enjoy and let us know what you think!

The season of Easter unfolds with joyful "alleluia's," yet it is also a time when the disciples sorted through their fears and questions, and began the journey of apprehending the implications of Jesus's resurrection. Please join us for our women's retreat as we explore the many ways that the road to Emmaus is a model of journey from a place of confusion to one of courage and authentic joy. Join us for a day of prayer and reflection. Come with a friend or make new ones!
