Supporting Saint James in 2026

It’s officially stewardship season! Please pray about how you’ll be able to financially support St. James in 2026. You can then make your pledge online here. Did you know that you can make one-time or set up recurring payments towards your pledge online as well?

Join Mother Kate for an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

Five churches, one synagogue, three choirs, two bands, a concert pianist, gospel and Hebrew music, soulful preaching and teaching. Join us for a joyful, inspirational celebration of unity, community and gratitude with our neighbors and friends.

In these divisive times, come together with the faith leaders and congregants of Cochran Avenue Baptist Church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Wilshire 3rd Ward, Hollywood Presbyterian Church, Saint Basil Catholic Church, Saint James in the City Episcopal Church, and Wilshire Boulevard Temple. Be the miracle you would like to see with love, faith and fellowship.

Followed by a dessert reception.

Cost: A non-perishable can or box of food for donation to our food pantries.

Giving Thanks and Sharing Our Abundance

As Thanksgiving approaches, we wanted to offer two great opportunities: donations and pies. For those of you who would like to donate a pie, we’ll be accepting them Sunday, November 23 or Wednesday, November 26 between 10AM and 12. If you would like to financially donate to our Thanksgiving Friday Feast, you may do so here. And if you would like information about volunteering Thanksgiving week, please email greatfood@stjla.org.

November 22 & November 23: Evensong, Return to the Sanctuary, Choir Reunion, and Saying Goodbye to Canon James Buonemani

Please mark your calendars! On Saturday, November 22 at 4:15PM, we will have our first Evensong of the season, combined with a service of rededication of our restored Sanctuary. Then on Sunday, November 23, we will celebrate the Feast of Christ the King, which will also be Canon James Buonemani’s final Sunday leading the music program at St. James after more than 30 years of dedicated service and extraordinary artistry. If you have sung in the choir under Jim’s direction during these years, you are warmly invited to join us in singing Hubert H. Parry’s I Was Glad at this special service. Please reply no later than Monday, November 3, to ChoirRSVP@stjla.org, indicating your voice part. Additional details will be shared with all who respond. We look forward to gathering voices old and new for this meaningful occasion.

New Friends Join St. James’ this Week How exciting this week to see a large lift transport our new statues up the front of the church building and place them in their designated niches. The statues look amazing! And just think – they will be looking out over Wilshire Blvd and Koreatown for the next one hundred years, and more. What a powerful witness to the great spiritual and social justice leaders who have come before us: The Bishop Barbara Harris, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bishop Simon Kim,...
