New Friends Join St. James’ this WeekHow exciting this week to see a large lift transport our new statues up the front of the church building and place them in their designated niches. The statues look amazing! And just think – they will be looking out over Wilshire Blvd and Koreatown for the next one hundred years, and more. What a powerful witness to the great spiritual and social justice leaders who have come before us: The Bishop Barbara Harris, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bishop Simon Kim, and our own dear Saint James. In other news, landscapers are hard at work – rain permitting – to bring back to life the lawn along the St. Andrew’s side of St. James.’ It will be fun to see the finished design when the work is completed. Ash Wednesday Next WeekPlease join us next Wednesday for Ash Wednesday services. At 7AM, Father John Kim will lead an English/Korean service in our small chapel, the Chapel of the Resurrection. Then I will lead an Ash Wednesday chapel for our school children. At Noon, we will have an Ash Wednesday service in the main church, and at 7:30PM, also in the church, the Ash Wednesday liturgy with choir. And finally, from 4-6PM out in front of St. James,’ we will offer ashes to go. I hope you can join us as we enter into the meaningful season of Lent. Supporting Saint James' in 2026Dear Friends, One thing that is incredibly helpful for us to is how much you hope to be able to give to Saint James’ in 2026 – the church word for this is “pledging.” Pledging allows us to create a balanced budget and plan out our ministries for the upcoming year. Please take some time to pray this week about how you’ll be able to support the great work this community does here. We hope that everyone will pledge. To date, we have pledges totaling $ $795,213.28. Our goal for a balanced budget is $904,000. We are 88% of the way there. If you have not yet pledged, you can make your pledge on online here.
