Christmas Pageant at 4PM this Christmas Eve
Dear Families,
This year we will have three Christmas Eve services, and the first one, at 4PM, is our annual Family Service. I am looking for children of all ages to read; and, I would also like a Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus and other Nativity characters. So, please email if you plan to attend the 4pm service on Christmas Eve and would like a reading or a role. No rehearsal required. Many thanks!!

African Christian Fellowship Party Delights Children and Adults Alike
This year the ACF Christmas party on December 14th was as much fun as ever, including holiday music, presents for the children, a delicious lunch and, best of all, a visit from Santa.
An Advent Conversation
This past week I had the honor of reflecting on the meaning of Advent with our wonderful Bishop-Elect Antonio Gallardo. This is the first in a series of monthly conversations he has planned with folks across the diocese. Watch our chat and stay tuned for more of Bishop-elect Gallardo’s conversations with friends in the months to come.
Every year, one third of our vestry members rotate off the vestry and are replaced by new members voted on at our Annual Meeting in January. This year our Annual Meeting will take place on Sunday, January 25th. At last month’s November meeting, the St James Vestry voted for the following individuals to comprise the vestry slate to serve three year terms:
Jean Dillingham
Cathy Helm
Bright Onyenwe
Sandra Spencer
Marsha Vargas
If you or someone you know would like to run for a spot on the vestry at our January election as well, please send your name to senior warden Ken Robbins at Ken.Robbins@raymondjames.com by January 10, 2026.
Supporting Saint James in 2026
Dear Friends,
As we wrap up 2025, the Vestry has started to put together the church’s budget for 2026. One thing that is incredibly helpful for us to is how much you hope to be able to give to Saint James’ in 2026 – the church word for this is “pledging.” Pledging allows us to create a balanced budget and plan out our ministries for the upcoming year. Please take some time to pray this week about how you’ll be able to support the great work this community does here. We hope that everyone will pledge.
To date, we have pledges totaling $708,115. Our goal for a balanced budget is $904,000. We are 78% of the way there. If you have not yet pledged, you can make your pledge on online here.
And one more thing. Please go ahead and complete your 2025 pledge so that we can balance our books for 2025. Many thanks!
Have you ever thought to yourself, “I love hearing about everything that’s going on at St. James’, but how do I learn about everything that’s going on throughout the diocese?” If so, your prayers have been answered. Click below to subscribe to the Diocesan newsletter.

New Friends Join St. James’ this Week How exciting this week to see a large lift transport our new statues up the front of the church building and place them in their designated niches. The statues look amazing! And just think – they will be looking out over Wilshire Blvd and Koreatown for the next one hundred years, and more. What a powerful witness to the great spiritual and social justice leaders who have come before us: The Bishop Barbara Harris, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bishop Simon Kim,...
