Gift Card Scams

There seems to be a considerable uptick in gift card scams. No one from St. James will ever email you saying we’re in a meeting but need you to go get us some gift cards. Please report emails like this as spam.

Vestry Slate

Thank you to Jean Dillingham, Cathy Helm, Bright Onyenwe, Sandra Spencer, SaraJane Thies, and Marsha Vargas for stepping forward to be on the Vestry slate this year. Please take the time to read about our candidates for the Vestry Class of 2029 here. Since there are more candidates than vacancies, we will have a rank-order vote at Annual Meeting to determine which of these five candidates will be called to serve on the Vestry. Thank you for taking the time to read about these amazing people, thank you for your prayerful discernment, and thank you to Jean, Cathy, Chuck, Bright, Sandra, SaraJane, and Marsha for putting their names forward for consideration.

Delegates to Diocesan Convention

Last week, 2025 pledge statements were emailed. If you did not receive your pledge statements or if you have any questions/corrections, please email office@stjla.org. The PIN for opening the pledge statements is 3903.

Supporting Saint James in 2026

Dear Friends,

The Vestry is finalizing the church’s budget for 2026. One thing that is incredibly helpful for us to is how much you hope to be able to give to Saint James’ in 2026 – the church word for this is “pledging.” Pledging allows us to create a balanced budget and plan out our ministries for the upcoming year. Please take some time to pray this week about how you’ll be able to support the great work this community does here. We hope that everyone will pledge.

To date, we have pledges totaling $784,568. Our goal for a balanced budget is $904,000. We are 84% of the way there. If you have not yet pledged, you can make your pledge on online here.
