Ever Ancient, Ever New: Intro to the Episcopal Church

Tuesdays at 7PM in October over Zoom we’ll be having our newcomer’s class Ever Ancient, Ever New which explores the history, liturgy, and structure of the Episcopal Church. This class can also prepare adults who are interested in Baptism or Confirmation.

If you are interested in registering for this class, or, if you are interested in being confirmed in November, please contact Father Jon at jfeuss@stjla.org.

St. James’ Retiree Brunch October 2 – Save the Date!

On Thursday morning, October 2, from 10:00AM – Noon, St. James’ retirees are invited to the Rectory for a special brunch. We will get to know each other better and receive an exciting renovation update. Please RSVP to Mother Kate at kcress@stjla.org so she can get the right number of bagels!

November 22 & November 23: Evensong, Return to the Sanctuary, Choir Reunion, and Saying Goodbye to Canon James Buonemani

Please mark your calendars! On Saturday, November 22 at 4:15PM, we will have our first Evensong of the season, combined with a service of rededication of our restored Sanctuary. Then on Sunday, November 23, we will celebrate the Feast of Christ the King, which will also be Canon James Buonemani’s final Sunday leading the music program at St. James after more than 30 years of dedicated service and extraordinary artistry. If you have sung in the choir under Jim’s direction during these years, you are warmly invited to join us in singing Hubert H. Parry’s I Was Glad at this special service. Please reply no later than Monday, November 3, to ChoirRSVP@stjla.org, indicating your voice part. Additional details will be shared with all who respond. We look forward to gathering voices old and new for this meaningful occasion.

Hearing Assistance Pilot Program

We are excited to announce a trial program for our new hearing assistance platform! If your hearing aids connect with your smartphone and you are interested in participating in a pilot group as we roll out ListenWiFi, please e-mail Father Jon (jfeuss@stjla.org) and he will give you details on how to connect.
