Dodgers Game - a Great Late Summer Experience

Our team may have lost, but we enjoyed peanuts, Crackerjacks, Dodger Dogs and, of course, lots of delightful socializing and team spirit as St. James’ in-the-City joined Episcopal/Lutheran Night at Dodger Stadium on August 29th. Thanks to all who joined in the fun!

St. James’ Men’s Group to Meet for September Dinner

The St. James’ Men’s Group will gather on Wednesday, September 24, at 7PM, at Mike Lyons’ and Alan Heppel’s home in the Oaks neighborhood just west of Griffith Park. Please join us for a special time of good food, lively conversation, and great fellowship. All are welcome, both familiar faces and newcomers. Please contact Alan Heppel at alanheppel@gmail.com to RSVP and for directions to the house. Please RSVP as soon as you can so that we can plan the meal; a donation of $15 towards the cost of dinner will be appreciated. There will be a “wine half-hour” before dinner, so feel free to bring a beverage of your choice, too.

Hearing Assistance Pilot Program

We are excited to announce a trial program for our new hearing assistance platform! If your hearing aids connect with your smartphone and you are interested in participating in a pilot group as we roll out ListenWiFi, please e-mail Father Jon (jfeuss@stjla.org) and he will give you details on how to connect.

Dear Friends,

Please join me for a book group on Zoom, as we read Tina Rathbone’s amazing book, The Asylum Seekers. At this time when our immigrant friends are suffering, let’s delve more deeply into their stories. We will meet Tuesday evenings at 7PM Pacific Time on September 2,9,16 and 23.

I hope you will join me for this rich discussion. Email me for the Zoom link at kcress@stjla.org

Peace,

Kate+
