The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi and St. James’s Annual Blessing of the Animals

St. Francis viewed animals as our dear brothers and sisters, and we truly love our animal friends here at St. James. THIS Sunday, October 5 at both the 8AM and 10:30AM services, we will bless pets! Come one, come all!


Ever Ancient, Ever New: Intro to the Episcopal Church

Tuesdays at 7PM in October over Zoom we’ll be having our newcomer’s class Ever Ancient, Ever New which explores the history, liturgy, and structure of the Episcopal Church. This class can also prepare adults who are interested in Baptism or Confirmation.

Come and meet the candidates for Bishop. They will be traveling around the diocese and available on Zoom as well to help us get to know them.

Retirees Gathered at the Rectory for Brunch and Renovation Update

On Thursday morning, October 2, we had a marvelous time at the Rectory catching up, meeting new friends, and enjoying a powerful update on the renovation. Thanks to all who attended.

November 22 & November 23: Evensong, Return to the Sanctuary, Choir Reunion, and Saying Goodbye to Canon James Buonemani

Please mark your calendars! On Saturday, November 22 at 4:15PM, we will have our first Evensong of the season, combined with a service of rededication of our restored Sanctuary. Then on Sunday, November 23, we will celebrate the Feast of Christ the King, which will also be Canon James Buonemani’s final Sunday leading the music program at St. James after more than 30 years of dedicated service and extraordinary artistry. If you have sung in the choir under Jim’s direction during these years, you are warmly invited to join us in singing Hubert H. Parry’s I Was Glad at this special service. Please reply no later than Monday, November 3, to ChoirRSVP@stjla.org, indicating your voice part. Additional details will be shared with all who respond. We look forward to gathering voices old and new for this meaningful occasion.


Hearing Assistance Pilot Program

We are excited to announce a trial program for our new hearing assistance platform! If your hearing aids connect with your smartphone and you are interested in participating in a pilot group as we roll out ListenWiFi, please e-mail Father Jon (jfeuss@stjla.org) and he will give you details on how to connect.
