Easter Flowers

Easter is just around the corner so please donate to Easter flowers and music now by clicking on this link https://secure.myvanco.com/YM5N/campaign/C-10R6V. It will be a joy to fill the church with beautiful Easter flowers and exquisite music.

Second Space Option for Parents and Children

Here at St James, we love families and are not one of those churches where people will ‘shoosh’ you if your children are busy and vocal. However, some parents with small children have asked for a separate space as an option during service, a place where they can watch the live stream of worship and allow their children space to work on projects and move their bodies. So, starting Sunday, March 22, we will set up our large TV in the parish hall, and lay out art supplies, for children and their families. Enjoy and let us know what you think!

Save the Date – An Additional Evensong this Month!

We are very blessed to offer a second Evensong service this month, as we welcome the I Cantori Choir of Walla Walla College, one of the great student choirs in American today. You will not want to miss this special evensong on Sunday, March 22 at 4:15PM.

A Zoom class during Lent - Passion Week in Visual Arts

You can still join St. James’ church member and art historian Nancy Bishop for three more Tuesday evenings in Lent to see how artists and craftspeople through the ages have interpreted the Gospel accounts of Passion Week. We will see cloaks and Palm leaves on Sunday followed by many events leading up to the glorious Resurrection on the first Easter morning.

Classes are meeting from 7-8 pm on two more Tuesday nights: March 17 and 24. RSVP to Kate if you are interested in joining: kcress@stjla.org.

Supporting Saint James in 2026

Dear Friends,

One thing that is incredibly helpful for us to is how much you hope to be able to give to Saint James’ in 2026 – the church word for this is “pledging.” Pledging allows us to create a balanced budget and plan out our ministries for the upcoming year. Please take some time to pray this week about how you’ll be able to support the great work this community does here. We hope that everyone will pledge.

To date, we have pledges totaling $815,625.16. Our goal for a balanced budget is $904,000. We are slightly over 90% of the way there. If you have not yet pledged, you can make your pledge on online here.

We wish you many blessings,

The Vestry of Saint James
