St. James Day

This Sunday, July 20th we will celebrate our patron saint, Jesus' disciple James, for St James Day! Be sure to join in that day's special liturgy followed by a celebratory lunch on St James School Field immediately following the 10:30AM service. There will be a taco truck on hand, and you are invited to bring a dessert or just yourself!

Interim Music Director for St. James in-the-City

Dear Friends,

We are so happy to share with you the news that we have hired an Interim Director of Music to come aboard this November and stay with us through July of 2026 as we search for our new, permanent music director. His name is Bruce Neswick, and he is a very highly respected organist, music director, teacher and composer. I am attaching his biography so you can read all about his fascinating career.

We will share more soon about the search process for our new permanent director but know that we will seek your input. In the meantime, we have much beautiful music to look forward to!

Peace and blessings,

Kate+ and Jon+

And here is a note to you from Bruce:

Greetings, St. James! I am very honored to be joining you this interim period, following Jim's outstanding and renowned decades-long tenure. Having played a recital for you last year, I know first-hand how much I look forward to playing your pipe organ, but I'm also very excited to work with your world-class choir. Its reputation, hard-earned and fully justifiable, is known throughout the Church. Many thanks to Kate+ and Jon+ for their hospitality and guidance, and I look forward to meeting you all in the months ahead!

Bruce
